So Mr. Write suggested that I start blogging, and I was pretty resistant at first. I didn't have anything to blog about and have never tried it before. Since I fear change I balked and procrastinated. Finally I decided to apply the same principal that authors everywhere employ and just started writing. So here I am. A little about me? I'm a jack of all trades and master of none. I have a degree in social work, so sometimes I manage to get a social work job. I love writing adoption home studies and do it as often as I can--any time one comes my way. I also happen to be a licensed massage therapist. I was a stay at home parent with a couple of little boys at home when Mr. Write suggested that I go ahead and go to massage school if I wanted to. So, a couple thousand dollars and almost two years of my life later I got a massage license. I've been doing massage sporadically ever since. Poor husband, everyone assumes that he gets massage all.the.time, but honestly it's probably like living with a chef. I give him massages, but it's not quite as frequent as one would think.
To top it all off, I'm finally making moves towards realizing my dream of writing a full-length novel. I have started and stopped so many times, but now I am working on it diligently, with a story in mind, with goals and deadlines in place. I've disciplined myself to write at least 1000 words a day (which is really nothing) and I'm reading craft articles/books and plenty of other novels during this process. I hope that I have awesome news to report as I make my way through this journey, and if I find something that can help other aspiring writers, I'll be sure to share it.
Do you have any awesome tips? Any advice? I'd love to hear it.
